We are acutely aware that many of the people worst affected by air pollution are those without the economic means to mitigate the negative health outcomes. Since the company was founded we have worked with a number of charitable groups and organisations to get masks into the hands of people who need them but cannot afford to purchase.

Mongol Rally 2019

When Peter and Denne contacted us, they asked for support to drive a 1999 Daihatsu Hijet from England to Mongolia to raise funds for Cool Earth. We thought “sure, why not?” and sponsored them. They handed out masks to orphanages along the way and raised a princely sum to help fight deforestation and climate change

Mongolia – Goyol Fashion Week

The then British Ambassador to Mongolia, Catherine Arnold, contacted us to share her concerns about the impact air pollution was having on Mongolians, and particularly children. Sadly, air pollution is attributed to an alarming number of infant mortalities in Mongolia – UNICEF goes as far as to call it a “health crisis” According to their research, “Pneumonia is now the second leading cause for under-five child mortality in the country.

Team Pickle Rickshaw

Cambridge Mask Company is backing the Pickle Rickshaw team, which consists of siblings Matt and Jo Osborn and their friend Ryan Wheeler. Jo has been a supporter of the Cambridge Mask cause for over a year now and wears a respirator on her daily bicycle commute across London. Knowing how notoriously bad the roads in India can be for dust and pollution.

Roundabout China

Roundabout was founded to help vulnerable children in China, and has raised millions of dollars to support a diverse range of projects. As well as donating masks to their shop to generate income, we make an annual contribution of masks to the children and families at the Hebei Yanda hospital, who are funded by Roundabout.

Bali Volcano

A volcanic eruption on the Indonesian island of Bali resulted in tonnes of toxic fumes and ash spewing out into the surrounding air. On Sunday 25th November 2017 the active volcano Mount Agung (which is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire) began to erupt after more than half a decade of calm. Local Bali expat, Amanda Flynn reached out to us for help protecting her fellow islanders.
